Choosing a Professional groomer for Your Pet

Choosing a professional groomer for your family pet can be a very trying experience for every pet owner. There have been many articles in newspapers, magazines and on television warning pet owners to beware when choosing a groomer for their beloved pet.

Looking in the phone book and trying to choose a groomer for your pet is almost impossible anymore, there are so many and how do you know you have chosen properly?

Here are a few suggestions for you: Ask friends about the groomer they use. Ask your veterinarian or boarding kennel, ask your breeder or your local pet supply shop. Doing this can help you avoid potential problem groomers. But, don't stop there. Don't just drop off your pet without meeting the
groomer/groomers for yourself. Make a trip to the grooming facility before you make your first appointment; be observant of how the facilities looks, smells and you can even ask for references, which you absolutely should check out. Are the kennels clean and spacious? Use your intuition and weather you get a positive feeling about the establishment and the groomers. Make a call to the Better Business Bureau, just to see whether anyone has lodged formal complaints against the establishment or the groomers.
